The first entrepreneurship event of Ghiaseddin Jamshid Kashani University

The startup event of Ghiaseddin Jamshid Kashani University was held in 2016/07/20 for three days in research building of Ghiaseddin Jamshid Kashani University.

The startup event of Ghiaseddin Jamshid Kashani University was held in 2016/07/20 for three days in research building of Ghiaseddin Jamshid Kashani University (2700 m2). This event was started with a lecture of vice-chairman of Ghiaseddin Jamshid Kashani University, Dr. Farzad Eskandari. 
The first day
In this event, Dr. Saeed Sohrabpour, former chairman of the Sharif University of Technology, and Dr. Ali Reza Feriduni, the head of Qazvin's comprehensive center for development were attended as speakers. 
Dr. Feriduni spoke about the creativity and innovation in business and important elements that to be taken into consideration in this regard. Then, after a short break, the event was continued.
Dr. Yahya Tapesh as one of the founders of the university participated in the event by a video conference from Stanford University and explained about the entrepreneurship techniques in Iran. In this videoconference, very useful subjects about the economic development in Iran, crises, and obstacles as well as its solutions were presented. He also mentioned the importance of holding startups for M.Sc. and Ph.D. students. 
Afterward, Dr. Ebrahimpour, the manager of Tehran Institute of Technology speak about entrepreneurship and successful businesses. He also noted the necessity of using the new methods instead of traditional ones by introducing the methods that successful companies are used.
After having lunch, a challenging lecture with entrepreneurs was started. In this part of the event, Mr. Zarei, (Raybod Co. CEO) and Mr. Mirzai (Pooyesh Part Co. CEO) spoke about their experiences and the factors affecting their success or failures in business. They also mentioned the effect of a resistive economy that stimulates the growth and encouragement of a new generation of entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship development should be in line with the needs of the market, otherwise, it would fail. Then participants asked their questions and entrepreneurs answered their questions based on their experiences. 
In the end, the participants spoke about their ideas; accordingly, 33 ideas were presented and written on a paper, then it was pinned on the wall for polling. Finally, 11 ideas were selected as the best idea and participants in 11 groups started a group work.

1.    Online services (an application to connect the repairmen and customers to share their information and tools)  
2.    Chapbook ( an application for book publication, observing feedbacks about the book before publishing, and presenting some pages of a book before purchasing )
3.    Unilink (an application for sharing a book, booklet, and student leaflets)
4.    Candy house (an application in the field of available cake and candies in confectionaries and purchasing them)
5.    Grandma (an application for buying and selling homemade candy, food, pickles, etc.)
6.    Chargeable inventors
7.    Cellphone holder on the charger
8.    Newscover (an application for collecting special news)
9.    Water Levelling device
10.    Preventing unauthorized use of electricity
11.    replacing healthy food with unhealthy food
The second day
Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Jahanbakht (Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship at Carnegie Mellon University, USA) held a Business Model Canvas workshop. Considering he is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at the Salem State University, he makes the students familiar with the issues of entrepreneurship day.
He was present at a workshop for consulting and training in the field of Business Model Canvas.
The participants first performed teamwork by instructors in the fields of business, graphics, and applications programming.
Seyed Mahdi Khaligh Razavi also participated in the startup event through a videoconference. He graduated from Cambridge University, UK, and now he is a post-doc researcher at MIT University. He also is one of the founders of Diamentech Company. In this videoconference, he spoke about the reasons and the ways of establishing the company and mentioned worthwhile points to establish a startup.  
The Third day
Dr. Farzaneh Eftekhari, who graduated from North Carolina State University in Design major, held a workshop for marketing and designing a brand. She also emphasized on using an academic method instead of traditional ones. 
Then Dr. Mohammad Noshad, Ph.D. in Electrical Sciences from Harvard University and founder of VLNCOMM LLC spoke about the implementation of WIFI networks idea. Teams should present their result in a PowerPoint within 14 hours. Next, each group should present their work to the jury within 5 min.
Finally, the juries mentioned their point of views and after voting, three teams were selected as winners.
