Introducing modular courses
In a modular education system, the systemic attitude has a significant application. Accordingly, before teaching skills, educational needs are determined and analyzed. Then, based on the results, the purposes, content, methods, teaching resources, lesson plans, and evaluation practices are determined or explained. 
Managers and industry owners always search for methods to facilitate workforce preparation and produce products quickly. Since in modular approach, for selecting students having special characteristics is not necessary and they pass a short-term course to gain the required skills and abilities, workforce preparation by modular approach is less limited and considered as an advantage for industry owners. 
In this method, independency of educational content allows students to learn a special skill directly without spending time on other objects. This system provides a valid educational approach for retraining and updating knowledge and technical skills. Besides, these features enable the scientific-applied educational system to provide industrial and commercial needs quickly. 
The modular system is defined as a set of facilities and logistics to perform a certain task and if this method is used to certain education, it is called modular education. The most important rules of modular education are:
-    independence 
-    deep connection with job skill needs
-    considering learning at the level of mastery
-     self-learning 
-    Considering the personal differences
The main features of modular education
-    Avoiding over or under education and only considers on real needs.
-    Reducing the education time, consequently decreasing the education costs
-    Providing the possibility of educational planning for occupations considering the facilities and local conditions
-    Providing the basis for enhancing the skills of each student without paying attention to all students
-    Providing the employing possibility in the desired job after participating in modular education courses 
-    The students are very active and have more freedom compared to other approaches
-    Facilitating knowledge transmission to work
-    Paying attention to personal differences
-    Considering on simplicity of contents through separation the training in independent courses.
-    Evaluating the success of student based on standards
In this regard, higher educations are held for different educational levels to train the skilled workforce in different sectors based on the needs of the community and in accordance with economic, social, and cultural development programs, as well as increase human resource productivity and to create the necessary acceleration in effective human training through avoiding overeducation and undereducation. After implementation of approved of 104th meetings of scientific-applied committee of the council for the extension of higher education (Date:2015/07/27) based on the formation of the workgroup of higher education courses between the education levels and the systematization of the implementation process of the training development to achieve the following objectives, workgroups of higher education courses between the education levels are held.
The purposes of courses
-    Systemizing the expansion of short-term education against standards and acceptable criteria
-    Implementation of short-term higher courses
-    Monitoring on the implementation of the courses to evaluate the results and enhance the courses
-    Establishing a culture of short-term higher education 
-    Establishing inter-institutional coordination through interactions with applied academic institutions of executive agencies and relevant organizations.
-    Coordination between different departments of the university, related to the implementation of courses
For this purpose, Ghiaseddin Jamshid Kashani University is obtained the necessary permissions to hold modular course in three majors:

Modular course

  •  Specialized design of electronic circuits
  • Design of electrical installations
  • Industrial automation

Introducing the head of the modular educations department
The modular educations of Ghiaseddine Jamshid Kashani University are carried out by “open, virtual, and extracurricular education office”. In order to realize the mentioned goals, the office is responsible for monitoring these courses by relevant rules and regulations. Some of the duties of this office are as follows:
-    Supervising the implementation of modular courses 
-    Evaluating the statistical reports of modular educations and their performance 
-    Obtaining the necessary permissions to conduct practical and beneficial courses for students
